Weekend Weaving in Cambridge Narrows

Sunday morning I slowly sipped my coffee, while I reviewed my "weaving workshop check list". It was a crisp fall morning and I couldn't wait to get on the road and under the canopy of changing leaves. I opted for the longer but prettier drive along the Saint John river, stopping at a vegetable stand or two to admire the decorative corn and luscious pumpkins. On the way to Cambridge Narrows I picked up some brown bread and fresh cranberries for the coming Thanksgiving celebration, and at one point I even pulled off the road just to stop and appreciate this wonderful time of year.

Ines Von Waldow of the Norwood on the Washedemoak Bed and Breakfast welcomed me in and fed me chilli after we got the workshop all set up. She had a beautiful spread of (her hand-picked) pair flan cake, vanilla almond biscotti and banana chocolate chip drop biscuits. We were so spoiled!

(Me, Maria Victoria Werneck, Maria Guevera,Wendy Cumberland, Jennifer Jackson and Katherine Weide)

The workshop went very smoothly, everyone was so quiet, really concentrating on the fine work they were doing. At one point I said that maybe we should be engaging in mindful exercises. It was a bit of a joke but through the whole workshop everyone really was so present and patient it really was a test of the mind. And with hot tea to be shared and a beautiful picture window looking out over the water it was a really lovely and calming afternoon.

What a beautiful venue, and we were so well taken care of I can't thank Ines and her husband Doug enough for their hospitality and I can hardly wait to see what workshops (and tasty treats!) we cook up for the spring.

Thank you to everyone who attended I hope you all had as much fun as I did!
